Heimtextil invited Alcova to rethink the traditional trade fair format. After a year of research, this took shape as Future Continuous—a project exploring the cultural and technological significance of textiles. Based on three themes, it connects past and future trends in materials, showing how textiles evolve with broader societal and ecological shifts. The project exists both as an exhibition and a publication.

Studio Vedèt developed the visual identity for Future Continuous, grounding it in Alcova’s research. The project’s color palette comes from their trend analysis, while images were created by scanning fabric fragments—archiving textiles as visual records of material change. This mix of digital and physical processes reflects Future Continuous’s focus on transition, history, and possibe future synergies. The result is a layered, textured identity that mirrors the research itself.

The Future Continuous catalogue is an extension of the project’s research. Studio Vedèt created a layout where insights, interviews, and short essays are visually connected to the color palette and scanned textile imagery. The publication brings together insights from leading voices in the field, including Ilse Crawford, Janis Jefferies, Christine Ladstätter, Dirk Vantyghem, Simone Van der Burg, Lucas Evers, and Eugenia Morpurgo. The foldout color chart is meant as an tool to compare and juxtapose different colours directly onsite, at the fair gounds.

The exhibition graphics designed by Studio Vedèt for Space Caviar's exhibition setup act as a connecting thread through Future Continuous, visually linking the research, materials, and ideas on display. A continuous line runs through the space, guiding visitors through the project’s themes and creating a sense of flow between different sections.

In the Future Continuous color palette, each shade is named to reflect its role in evolving textile narratives, informed by discussions with experts. Divided into three themes—Regenerative, Radically Restructured, and Naturally Uneven—the palette integrates into both the exhibition and publication, visually structuring the project’s key research directions.
