The German Design Council, established in 1953, has long served as the world’s leading center for knowledge exchange in design, branding, and innovation. Through its international competition, one&twenty, the Council showcases and supports emerging talents in design. A prestigious jury selects groundbreaking and visionary works from the field of product design, with award-winning pieces exhibited during Milan Design Week.

For the 2024 edition, the exhibition design of the one&twenty show was entrusted to the talented duo Objects of Common Interest. Studio Vedèt was invited to craft a visual identity that would align with and interpret the inventive and bold installation conceived by Objects of Common Interest.

The Greek-American designers’ project, marked by a playful and daring approach, transformed the rather classical, white gallery space of a historic building in central Milan, utilizing large, brightly colored inflatables. Studio Vedèt’s graphic design followed these creative lines seamlessly.

Vibrant flags featuring rounded typography and playful pink, chubby elements welcomed visitors from the streets of Brera, drawing attention to the event in a neighborhood buzzing with happenings. Inside the exhibition, wayfinding and informational text adhered thoughtfully to the unusual shapes of the exhibition design, respecting them while offering clarity to the visitor experience. Online, the identity came alive with dynamic and engaging content, recreating the exhibition’s lively atmosphere for those unable to attend in person.
